Ship it
Found a web site that sends out my shipping needs to 10 shippers. I pick one that will ship it form Kansas to Los Angeles for $618.

I'm going to do it!
After months of thinking about it and researching it. I decide I’m in.
I'm going with a new 2005 Volkswagen TDI Passat. (TDI is their diesel engine) And I'm going to run it on B100 so I don't have to make any modification to the engine.(Eventually my goal is to be able to put SVO or WVO but need to still do more research on the best converstion with my type of engine.) I call my local VW dealer. Snag. California does not let it’s residences buy new diesels anymore. It has to have at least 7,500 miles.
Switch gears and go to ebay and find a 2005 VW GLS TDI with 10K miles for 23K being sold by a dealer in Kansas. I call them up and buy it over the phone. Note: The wife quesitons my sanity by wondering how I could buy a twenty three thousand dollar car that I've never seen or driven. I comfort her by showing her the 3 inch by 3 inch digital picture on my cheap goldstar monitor and tell her the dealer says it's in "mint condition."
